Mi Casa es Tu Casa!

In the 25th September we arrived in Sarria.

Other volunteers who are going  further with cars help us with our stuff and visit our flat for the first time.
First impression?
Muchas gracias por todo!
Sarria looked like an empty dessert (have to admit it was siesta time), except our apartment - who was now full with people energy. Together with us now was living 3 more volunteers (a part of Baltic invasion - our braljuga Lithuanian girl - Vita and also John plus Ule) and the best neighbors upstairs (Basia, Damiano, Szandra and Alex - okay,he spent more time on our sofa then in their apartment).
They all are previous volunteers in project Walking together, and we are the lucky ones.

Someone who answers our questions, show as the places, introduce to the work, extraordinary great people, places and music (I have to say, first night it felt that Im in Fontain, and when I will turn I will see the faces of friends ) and not to forget - The Big Bang Theory. :D

A lot of new things, experience and emotions to live through.
Pulpo!
But for now we are enjoying it.
Con Alex
The sunny days, river through the old center, first "get to know your job" day, sweethearted persons, phrases in Spanish I start to answer
And Jup, we tried octopus today.
Across the Universe? At least Europa...
And now I have a big Spanish book from library "Super Simpsons" and a small dictionary, notebook to put down the new words. Have to visit some corner tapa bar with the new kit in the evening.
So lets go to the work.

Principio! - beggining

Have to admit it my trip started with something you would call
Homesick.
Who is the support system for you?

In the airport receiving all the sms with farewells I understood that in Latvia I´m leaving something important - all the ones I really care about, and I know that when I will come back their lives will have moved in without me,
when I will come back everything won´t be in the place I left it.
In the road of their lives they will be in a different place and I will be in a different place also.
- Where? (¿Donde?)
- Lets see after 3 months (Vamos a ver despues 3 meses.)

But the trip is on!
From Liepaja to Riga, to Madrid, from there to A Coruña. The whole thing, with all the time in between, took about 17 hours - But finally someone (my next mentor - Irene) picked me up.

Irene - mentor
From this moment everything is really starting.
Now I´m here! My EVS trip is starting.

But before they let us - the new volunteers to enter the real world we all get put together in on-arrival trainings for 5 days. Our group is mixed together with 20 more people who will (or already have started ) their volunteer path in Spain.

A greenhouse
A lot of people with the same fears, hops, questions, expectations. A days filled with laughter, challenges, work, get-to-know-others-and-yourself-through-them emotions.
Fun and a gained support system  we can use during our experience.

Hasta luego!
Lets meet in other spanish cities!

Who doesn´t speak Spanish?
ENJOY the experiences life brings to you! (;

Conócenos!

Take two persons, put them together and start a examination how they will get to know each other, discover Spain and learn about themselves.

Lets meet!

Me
llamo Anna, soy de Letonia, soy voluntaria europea.

That was almost the only things I was capable to say in Spanish (
okay, I have had few lessons before - what is perfectly few lessons more than my project-mate Meeri from Estonia had)

You got it right! We are 2 girls from Baltic countries and the only ones who
didn´t speak Spanish - 2  from a  group of 10 people (volunteers in "Walking together") who will spend 3 months in Sarria.

Sarria is a willage in Galicia, Spain - located about 100 km from Santiago de Compastela. The start or simply a stop in many pilgrims way.

Project - We are 10 young people from all around the Europe
divided in 5 groups, 5 places - Logrono, Carrion de los Condes and Frómista and Santiago de Compostela and Sarria.(?)

Our basic tasks
are to help hospitaleros, help pilgrims,  learn Spanish and work on our own personal projects.

How we will succeed? - You will see here!
